San Jose: Firefighter injured in fall while battling attic fire

SAN JOSE — A firefighter was injured in a fall whereas responding to a two-alarm hearth Monday morning at a townhome within the Willow Glen space, in response to the San Jose Hearth Division.

The hearth was first reported at 11:43 a.m. within the attic of a two-story dwelling on Ashmeade Court docket off Leigh Avenue north of Hamilton Avenue, the fireplace division stated.

Throughout the response, a “firefighter was transported to the hospital for analysis after falling from (a) low roof,” and was anticipated to outlive his accidents, in response to the fireplace division. Officers didn't say extra in regards to the nature of the accidents.

The hearth was knocked down inside about half-hour. It seems to have originated within the attic of a vacant second-story unit.

No different accidents have been reported. The hearth division added that the fireplace was remoted to the unit, and that no adjoining residents have been displaced.

A trigger for the fireplace stays underneath investigation.
