The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors voted Sept. 6 to co-sponsor the tenth anniversary of Compassion Week, set for Oct. 15-23. Since its inception, greater than 18,000 volunteers have participated in 975 initiatives and actions at 85 organizations on the Peninsula and within the South Bay.

Compassion Week is an annual collaborative effort by the Los Altos Mountain View Group Basis, Fremont Financial institution, a number of native religion communities and Santa Clara County.
