Merced police arrest gang member after pursuit

A 25-year-old gang member was arrested after main officers on a pursuit in Merced, in line with police.

The Merced Police Division Gang Violence Suppression Unit situated recognized gang member Armando Rodriguez, 25, of Merced within the 300 block of South Freeway 59 at 7:13 p.m. Friday, in line with a social media submit by the division.

Officers had been conscious Rodriguez was needed on a number of felony warrants alleging a parole violation, kidnapping and home violence.

As officers tried to detain him, Rodriguez led police on a pursuit by way of South Merced. Rodriguez crashed his automobile within the 600-block alley of West Seventh Avenue and fled on foot.

Rodriguez was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

Rodriguez was booked into Merced County Jail for his excellent warrants, and on suspicion of felony evading and resisting and obstructing cops. His bail was set at $152,500, in line with jail information.
