Suspect in organized retail theft ring arrested, $715,000 in merchandise recovered

PITTSBURG — An organized retail theft job pressure with the California Freeway Patrol recovered stolen merchandise value $715,000 and arrested an individual believed to be a part of the ring, the company introduced Wednesday.

Investigators arrested the individual at a Pittsburg residence and served search warrants on the residence and a storage facility. The CHP didn't disclose the addresses of both place.

Throughout the search of the residence, the CHP stated investigators realized the 45-year-old suspect leased a couple of storage unit at a close-by facility, and obtained search warrants to look them.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion organized retail theft and conspiracy, the CHP stated.

Based on the CHP, investigators discovered stolen merchandise from CVS, Goal, Ceremony Support, Safeway, Sunglass Hut, Macy’s, Complete Wine and Extra, Luluemon and different undisclosed retailers. The merchandise was from all through the state of California, and the CHP confirmed the worth at $715,000.

“The duty pressure, in collaboration with the retail trade and our allied company companions, is figuring out these organized rings and making our communities safer,” CHP Golden Gate Division Chief Christ Costigan stated in a press release.
