The Meals and Drug Administration Monday permitted a second COVID-19 vaccine — the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, which will probably be marketed as Spikevax.

What occurred: The FDA mentioned Moderna’s vaccine, known as Spikevac, met the “rigorous requirements for security, effectiveness and manufacturing high quality required for approval.”
