Map: 3.3 earthquake in Los Angeles

A magnitude 3.3 earthquake was recorded Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, the U.S. Geological Survey mentioned.

The quake, at 9:26 a.m., was centered within the South Gate neighborhood, 6 miles south of downtown.

Responses to the USGS Did You Really feel It web site indicated it was felt from the coast to Whittier, and from the San Gabriel Mountains to Lengthy Seaside.

It was the biggest quake in Los Angeles County since a 3.6 in East Los Angeles on Oct. 24.
