The Utah State quarterbacks room is adding some experience.

Former Wyoming quarterback Levi Williams announced on social media Thursday that he’s committed to Utah State, eight days after he entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The 6-foot-5, 224-pound Williams split time at quarterback this season at Wyoming with Sean Chambers, who coincidentally also entered the transfer portal. Williams finished the year completing 72 of 120 passes for 990 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions.

Williams is also a rushing threat, as he ran for 482 yards and five touchdowns on 72 carries.

His best game came during the bowl season when Williams ran for 200 yards and four touchdowns in leading Wyoming to a 52-38 win over Kent State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. He also completed 9 of 11 passes (a season-high 81.8%) for 127 yards and a touchdown.

The day after the bowl, Williams, who started five games during the 2020 season, announced he was entering the transfer portal. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Williams joins a USU quarterbacks room that has plenty of returning experience. Logan Bonner, the Arkansas State transfer who threw for 3,628 yards and 36 touchdowns, both single-season school records, has one year of eligibility remaining.

Cooper Legas, who filled in for an injured Bonner during the LA Bowl and helped lead the Aggies to a 24-13 win over Oregon State by throwing for 171 yards and two touchdowns, also returns and has three years of eligibility remaining.

One player not returning at quarterback for Utah State is Andrew Peasley, who announced on Dec. 23 he was entering the transfer portal. Peasley threw for 415 yards and three touchdowns this season.
