Another former CNN producer is under criminal investigation over an allegation involving “potential juvenile” victims, per Fox News.
The report confirmed with the Fairfax County Police Department that a criminal investigation has been launched “into serious allegations involving potential juvenile victims” and that “detectives assigned to the Child Exploitation Squad of the Major Crimes Bureau are leading this investigation” into Rick Saleeby, a former senior producer for Jake Tapper’s show “The Lead.”
- “While we will eventually be transparent about our findings, safeguarding the personal privacy and safety of victims and witnesses as well as maintaining the integrity of our criminal investigation are of paramount importance,” a spokesperson for the police department said, per the report.
- CNN responded to the claims, per the report, stating that Saleeby no longer works for CNN and that he resigned earlier this month.
He is the second CNN producer to be investigated over links to juvenile victims. John Griffin, a CNN producer for eight years, was arrested earlier this month and charged with three counts of using a facility of interstate commerce to sexually abuse underage girls, per Newsweek.
- Griffin worked on a morning show called “New Day” and had also worked with Chris Cuomo in the past before Cuomo landed a prime-time show.
- He was fired from CNN, unlike Saleeby, who resigned.
