Security beefed up in Mumbai after Bandra Railway Police gets information about bomb threat

Info about possible bomb attack in Mumbai received

New Delhi: An alert has been sounded in Mumbai after Bandra Railway Police Station on Saturday received information about a possible bomb attack through a call.

Mumbai Railway Police Commissioner Quaiser Khalid said that after the caller was contacted, security was beefed up and all sister agencies were informed about the development.

“We are enquiring into the matter. No need to panic or worry,” he said in a tweet.

On November 9, the cops issued an alert across south Mumbai after a taxi driver informed that suspicious men had asked him the address of industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilia.

Later, the police traced the vehicle but nothing suspicious has been found so far.

“1 person identified; has been called for an inquiry. He is a taxi driver from Gujarat. Nothing suspicious recovered from him so far,” said Mumbai Police.

This came after the Antilia bomb scare case on February 25, when the security officer of Antilia informed Mumbai police about a suspicious SUV being parked on Carmichael Road.

During the investigation, the cops recovered 20 gelatin sticks and a threatening note from the vehicle.
