According to reports, terrorists knew about the slain Commanding Officer's family travelling with him this morning in Manipur, Churachandpur. According to reports, the militants planned the fatal ambush despite knowing that Tripathi's son and wife will be travelling with him. This means that civilians have been deliberately targeted by the attackers. The attack is being seen as the deadliest of the area in recent history. Everyone, from Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh to PM Modi has condemned the attack and have vowed that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
