A TSA worker has been suspended after social-media outrage over his therapy of a bomb-sniffing canine in Detroit’s airport, the company stated.
A press release launched Monday by the Transportation Safety Administration says, partly: “The conduct displayed by this handler is unacceptable and never throughout the excessive requirements we maintain our officers to.”
It stated he has been “eliminated … from dealing with duties pending completion of an investigation.”
A 90-second video posted Sunday to Twitter reveals a person strolling the German shorthaired pointer forwards and backwards throughout a 40-foot-wide part of concourse at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. A number of occasions, he shortens the leash and yanks onerous sufficient to raise the canine’s entrance paws off the ground and trigger the animal to scramble for traction. The company’s assertion recognized the person solely as “a TSA explosive detection canine handler.”
