San Jose: Jim Stump’s Taproom & Kitchen takes off at SJC airport

The chef-owner of among the South Bay’s hottest eating places has opened his latest enterprise in Terminal B.

Referred to as Jim Stump’s Taproom + Kitchen, the eatery will serve passengers from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. day by day with a menu that pulls breakfast, appetizer and entree favorites from Stump’s different menus, previous and current, in Campbell, Los Gatos and San Jose.

There’s Jim’s Household Bolognese with penne pasta. The Solely Burger That Belongs on The Desk, from his Willow Glen menu, together with the Chilaquiles Rojas. The Shepherd & Sims Salad from the Los Gatos restaurant of that title. And the Fried Shrimp from his outdated menu on the Los Gatos Brewing Firm, served this time with a salad of shaved celery and blue cheese, plus buffalo sauce.

Among the many interesting additions are Steak Frites, a bavette reduce drizzled with salsa verde; Smoked Salmon Sandwich with caper mayo, Flatbread topped with braised greens, mushrooms, caramelized onion jam; and Piquillo Peppers filled with manchego cheese.

Stump’s boasts a full bar with craft cocktails, eight brews on faucet plus bottled beers. The restaurant serves Peet’s espresso.
