BYU turned to the junior faculty ranks so as to add some depth on offense.

The varsity introduced Wednesday that tight finish Ray Paulo has signed with this system forward of the Cougars’ entrance into the Large 12 Convention.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Paulo beforehand performed at Allan Hancock Faculty in Santa Maria, California, the place he performed each tight finish and defensive finish throughout his time there.

Paulo is a local of Pago Pago, American Samoa, and served a two-year mission in Alabama for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Final season, Paulo earned first-team all-conference honors when he caught 26 passes for 379 yards and 4 touchdowns whereas including 10 carries for 34 yards. He additionally had 9 tackles, a sack and a cross breakup on protection.

Paulo redshirted the 2021 season.

Previous to serving a mission, Paulo performed as a freshman in 2018 and had 46 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two pressured fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

He joins a decent ends group at BYU that's headlined by returning junior Isaac Rex and contains Masen Wake and Ethan Erickson.
