Driver killed in crash on Highway 101 in San Martin

A driver was killed and his passenger injured in a single-car crash Thursday morning on Freeway 101 in San Martin.

The crash occurred at 11:54 a.m. on southbound 101 simply south of the Center Avenue overpass, the California Freeway Patrol mentioned.

A Lexus compact SUV within the leftmost of the three southbound lanes went uncontrolled and veered onto the median. It overturned, hit the guardrail and ended up on the median subsequent to the northbound lanes, the CHP mentioned.

The motive force, a 72-year-old man, was pronounced lifeless on the scene. The passenger, a 73-year-old lady, suffered main accidents and was taken to a San Jose hospital. Each have been from Del Rey Oaks, close to Monterey.

The motive force’s identify has not been launched.
