Mother found dead at Moss Landing harbor; 7-year-old still missing

MOSS LANDING — A 7-year-old boy was being sought close to Moss Touchdown Harbor after his little brother, discovered wandering alone, mentioned the older boy and their mom had gone into the water and disappeared.

The lady was discovered unresponsive close to the launch ramp and was declared lifeless at a hospital.

The search started after an unrelated individual contacted authorities round 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and mentioned he had come throughout a 3-year-old boy close to Jetty Street, the Coast Guard mentioned. The kid mentioned his mom and brother have been lacking within the water, Coast Guard and state parks officers mentioned.

The boy’s mom was discovered close to the harbor’s launch ramp between 8 and 9 p.m., in response to Monterey County Undersheriff Keith Boyd. Her id was not made public.
