A portion of Freeway 101 west of the Freeway 156 interchange was closed in each instructions in San Benito County early Sunday morning as a result of downed timber.
The freeway was closed from San Juan Street to the 156 interchange about 1:10 a.m.

Caltrans crews have been referred to as to the scene. There isn't a estimate for when the freeway will reopen.
