The United Nations introduced Wednesday that the French baguette is now on UNESCO’s cultural heritage checklist.

In line with Politico, UNESCO chief Audrey Azoula stated the baguette “celebrates the French lifestyle: the baguette is a every day ritual, a structuring component of the meal, synonymous with sharing and conviviality.”

Baguettes are a staple in France. BBC reported that the nation produces round 16 million baguettes day by day. The New York Instances reported that the nation sells over six billion baguettes annually.

The cultural heritage checklist contains round 600 different objects which are significant to different cultures, like conventional tea making in China and Neapolitan pizza in Italy.
