U.S. Home Democrats elected Rep. Hakeem Jeffries to steer their caucus on Wednesday, making him the first Black chief of a celebration in Congress.
The 52-year-old Jeffries, who represents the eighth Congressional District in New York, will exchange Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who led Home Democrats for twenty years and served as a congresswoman representing San Francisco for 35 years.
