An Iranian athlete competed and not using a hijab throughout a climbing competitors in South Korea on Sunday, and now her future — and security — are unsure.

The controversy over Elnaz Rekabi not sporting the necessary head protecting comes amid ongoing protests in Iran after Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian lady, died in police custody after allegedly breaking hijab guidelines, in accordance with the Deseret Information.

Now persons are anxious for Rekabi’s security after she left South Korea on Tuesday, a day sooner than her scheduled departure, The Washington Publish reported.

Rekabi’s pals have been unable to contact her as her telephone and passport have been allegedly confiscated from her, a supply instructed BBC Persia.

Afterwards, an apology for not sporting the necessary head protecting was posted to her Instagram, stating that the protecting “inadvertently confronted an issue” when she needed to compete sooner than scheduled.
