Man missing since July found dead in California mountains had been shot

CAMARILLO  — A 35-year-old man lacking since July whose physique was discovered this month in Southern California’s Santa Monica Mountains was shot to dying, in keeping with a coroner’s report.

Jose Velasquez, of Camarillo, was discovered lifeless Oct. 3 close to a mountaineering path in a mountainous space of Los Angeles County, the Ventura County Star reported. His automotive was present in neighboring Ventura County, within the metropolis of Thousand Oaks.

He had been final seen July 27 and was reported lacking July 30.

Velasquez died on account of a number of gunshot wounds and the way of dying was murder, the LA County coroner’s workplace stated. The coroner’s workplace lists Velasquez’s full title as Jose Velasquez Turcios.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Main Crimes Bureau is investigating.
