WALNUT CREEK — A Pittsburg man has been arrested within the tried sexual assault of a girl Oct. 6 in an elevator on the Walnut Creek BART station, authorities mentioned.
The 34-year-old suspect was arrested by a BART police sergeant Saturday morning within the car parking zone on the North Harmony BART Station.
He was arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to commit a critical intercourse crime, kidnapping, false imprisonment and theft, authorities mentioned. He was being held Monday on the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $675,000 bail.
Authorities mentioned the 20-year-old Daly Metropolis lady was attacked shortly earlier than midnight on Oct. 6.
BART spokesman Chris Filippi mentioned each the lady and suspect had exited a prepare when the suspect allegedly compelled the lady into an elevator and tried to take her pants off.
The lady, who didn't know the suspect, was in a position to combat off the assault and make contact with BART police, Filippi mentioned. She declined medical consideration.
