Robber of Oakland mail carrier sentenced to federal prison term

OAKLAND – A person was sentenced to 51 months in federal jail Friday within the armed theft final December of a postal service letter service in Oakland, officers stated.

Kevin Allan Fowler, 31, a resident of the East Bay, was convicted June 15 of robbing a mail service on Dec. 2, 2021 on Merritt Avenue close to Lake Merritt.

Based on a press launch from federal prosecutors, Fowler plead responsible to armed theft in a plea settlement.

The discharge stated Fowler admitted strolling previous the letter service as she was approaching a constructing to ship mail. He then returned, demanded she flip over her keys and when she refused he admitted taking out and brandishing a handgun.

The letter service then handed over her automobile keys and two United States Postal Service keys to Fowler who fled in one other automobile.
