Photos: Young Eagles Girl’s Day at Reid-Hillview County Airport in San Jose

Younger ladies from the Bay Space took to the skies on Saturday through the first Younger Eagles Woman’s Day at Reid-Hillview County Airport in San Jose.

Two-hundred ladies and 26 pilots participated within the Experimental Plane Affiliation Chapter 62’s occasion. For most of the ladies, it was their first time in a small airplane.

The volunteer pilots mentioned the anatomy of the planes, navigation and the the cockpit instrumentation and the aspiring feminine pilots logged the flight and obtained a certificates on the completion of the day.

Launched in 1992, the Younger Eagles program has devoted 30 years to giving youth ages 8–17 their first airplane experience. It’s the one program of its form, and the mission is to introduce youngsters to the world of aviation and maybe encourage them to grow to be pilots themselves.

At present, practically 2.3 million younger folks have loved a free introductory flight by means of the Younger Eagles program. The flights are made potential by means of the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
