EL GRANADA — A two-car crash Wednesday closed a bit of Freeway 1 on the Half Moon Bay Airport and despatched three individuals to the hospital with critical accidents.
The crash was reported at 4:15 p.m. in El Granada — a village in northern San Mateo County. Witnesses mentioned a person driving an SUV north on Freeway 1 swerved off the street, overcorrected after which veered into oncoming visitors, mentioned California Freeway Patrol Officer David LaRock. The SUV collided with a sedan.
The motive force of the SUV, his male passenger, and the feminine driver of the sedan all had been taken to Stanford Hospital with main accidents. At the very least one individual was airlifted from the scene.
Authorities suspect the driving force of the SUV was impaired by alcohol or medication, and are investigating the crash as a DUI, LaRock mentioned.
Freeway 1 was closed in each instructions following the crash, however reopened shortly earlier than 8 p.m.
