An Orem man has been arrested after police say his 10-month-old daughter needed to be saved from overdosing on fentanyl she obtained from her father's laundry.
Jazz Christopher Rockwood, 33, was booked into the Utah County Jail on Sunday for investigation of aggravated youngster abuse and youngster endangerment.
The investigation started Aug. 15 in Lehi when police have been notified that a 10-month-old lady was overdosing.
On the hospital, "the child was unresponsive and was given naloxone to revive her as a result of suspicion of the overdose being attributable to opiates. After naloxone was administered, (she) was aware and was respiration on her personal. A second dose of naloxone was wanted shortly after, and (the lady) was placed on a naloxone drip as a result of severity of the opiates she ingested," in accordance with a police reserving affidavit.
Medical doctors knowledgeable police that the lady's father, Rockwood, had been on the similar hospital simply 5 days earlier to be handled for a drug overdose, the affidavit states.
"Jazz was discovered with a needle in his arm and was unresponsive. He grew to become extraordinarily aggressive and checked himself out of the hospital in opposition to medical recommendation," the arrest report states.

A health care provider instructed detectives that the hospital had been seeing blue drugs being bought on the road as oxycodone which are really fabricated from fentanyl, police say.

On Thursday, toxicology exams confirmed the lady had fentanyl in her system, police stated.
