Oakland: Man shot twice in Lake Merritt’s Lakeside Park

OAKLAND — A person was shot Monday afternoon in a Lake Merritt park, authorities stated.

Shortly after 1:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of ShotSpotter exercise within the 600 block of Bellevue Avenue in Lakeside Park.

When officers arrived, they discovered a person close by affected by no less than two gunshot wounds, and offered therapy till paramedics and Oakland Hearth Division firefighters arrived. Medical employees at an area hospital have been working to stabilize the person, who was in surgical procedure as of two:50 p.m. The sufferer’s situation was not instantly shared Monday afternoon.
