Nowruz ambassadors wished

The Youngsters’s Discovery Museum of San Jose is embarking on a three-year venture exploring Nowruz, the Persian New 12 months celebration of the spring equinox, with the aim of growing a cultural competition and a museum exhibition with people and organizations that remember Nowruz.

Nowruz ambassadors can take part in a spotlight group, full a questionnaire about their Nowruz traditions, introduce museum workers to others within the Persian neighborhood, share recipes and favourite kids’s music alternatives, discuss with kids about their household historical past and traditions and share photographs and historic objects.

The museum is holding a Nowruz planning assembly Sept. 17, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. To register, go to https://www.cdm.org/nowruz.

Alum Rock webinar

The Santa Clara Valley Open Area Authority is internet hosting a digital geology stroll by San Jose’s Alum Rock Park on Sept. 10, 10-11 a.m. Throughout the Zoom webinar, Open Area Authority workers will discover the park’s mineral springs, discover shells in stone, uncover different fascinating geological finds and uncover why this park is known as Alum Rock.
