4 individuals in a Tesla have been killed Sunday evening north of Hollister when their automobile crossed the middle line and hit a giant rig, the California Freeway Patrol mentioned.
The crash was reported at 8:05 p.m. on Freeway 156 close to Fairview Highway, about 2½ miles south of the 152/156 junction.
A 2014 Tesla was eastbound when it went throughout the double yellow traces into the westbound lane and collided with a Freightliner tractor-trailer, the CHP report mentioned.
These killed have been the Tesla’s driver — a 55-year-old girl — and her passengers, a male and two females whose ages weren't recognized, the CHP mentioned. All have been from Carmel Valley. Their names weren't launched.
The truck’s driver, a 39-year-old Madera man, was handled at a Hollister hospital for minor accidents.
Earlier Sunday, a driver was killed in a solo crash on Freeway 156 close to Buena Vista Highway, about 5 miles south of the Tesla crash web site.
In that accident, round 12:50 a.m., a Chevrolet pickup truck pushed by a 27-year-old Gilroy man veered from the westbound lane right into a fence on the fitting aspect of the highway, the CHP mentioned. The truck overturned, and the motive force was ejected, struggling deadly accidents. The truck then caught fireplace.
The driving force was the truck’s sole occupant; his identify was not launched.
As of Monday morning, investigators had not decided if alcohol or drug use was a possible consider both of the crashes.
