Berkeley: One arrested, two sought in hate crime at People’s Park

BERKELEY — An individual was arrested and two others have been sought in reference to an assault Sunday at Individuals’s Park that authorities have been investigating as an anti-transgender hate crime.

In accordance with restricted statements and social-media posts, College of California police stated officers responded simply after 7:40 a.m. to the park within the 2500 block of Haste Road for a report of tried aggravated arson and assault involving a baseball bat.
