Rising artists sought
The Rotary Membership of San Jose is placing out a name for artists to use for the tenth Annual Leigh Weimers Rising Artist Award. The deadline to use is July 15.
Artists in all genres can apply for this award, created in honor of Weimers, the late Mercury Information columnist. Earlier awards have ranged from $1,000 to $5,000 money prizes, and as much as 4 winners might be invited to point out their work and/or converse at a lunch assembly of one of many world’s 10 largest Rotary Golf equipment.

Going batty
The Santa Clara Valley Open Area Authority is internet hosting two occasions this month that includes bats.
