Map: Electra Fire now California’s 2nd biggest wildfire of season

The Electra Fireplace, burning within the Sierra Nevada foothills of Amador and Calaveras counties, is now California’s second greatest wildfire of the season.

On Thursday morning, the burned space was 4,272 acres (6.7 sq. miles), in line with the California Division of Forestry and Fireplace Safety. Containment was at 40%.

The hearth began Monday afternoon alongside the North Fork of the Mokelumne River. The trigger has not been decided, CalFire mentioned.

No constructions have been broken. One firefighter damage has been reported.
