FREMONT — BART officers resumed service between the system’s Fremont and Milpitas stations Monday afternoon after a grass hearth broke out alongside the tracks and stopped service for practically an hour, authorities mentioned.
Shortly after 6:05 p.m., Fremont Fireplace Division firefighters responded aboard two engines to the fireplace on the system’s Heat Springs BART station within the 45100 block of Heat Springs Boulevard.
Station workers started turning again trains alongside the Berryessa line at Fremont and Milpitas stations, with shuttle service ferrying some passengers between the 2 alongside mutual-aid service supplied by AC Transit’s No. 217 bus. AC Transit will settle for BART tickets or Clipper playing cards as bus fare on that line.
A BART spokesman mentioned service was anticipated to renew as quickly as firefighters extinguished the blaze and station workers had been capable of examine the tracks. No phrase was instantly obtainable on any accidents.
