‘Be-You-tiful’ contest winners
Saratoga college students practically swept the awards within the 2022 Be-You-tiful, Be Free Multimedia Contest sponsored by the Campbell-based Consuming Issues Useful resource Middle (EDRC). Contest entries spoke to physique picture challenges the scholars face.
Within the poetry class, Saratoga Excessive Faculty sophomore Maithreyi Bharathi received first place in her age group for “Splendidly Me,” and Redwood Center Faculty eighth-grader Grace Lin took high honors in her age group for “Jumbles.”
Saratoga Excessive Faculty sophomore Grace Xiaoran Li positioned first in her age group within the essay class. Second place went to junior Shannon Ma for her essay on the dance group’s “poisonous tradition round physique picture.”
Redwood Center Faculty eighth-grader Sophie Qin took the highest spot in her age group for her essay on how “social establishments such because the media, household and even strangers all have a big influence on an individual’s id.”
The EDRC offers sources and help to these affected by consuming issues.
Museum seeks docents
The Ainsley Home Museum in downtown Campbell is recruiting for docent volunteers to steer guided excursions of the Ainsley Home. Docents ought to be accessible to work no less than one shift every month; the Ainsley Home is open for excursions Fridays-Sundays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteer coaching is supplied. Nature tales
Santa Clara Valley Open House Authority volunteers and workers are set to inform nature tales from world wide at an Aug. 13 Zoom webinar.
