America’s mother and father weren’t getting very inventive final 12 months, in response to the record of high child names launched Friday by the Social Safety Administration.
The one new title on the highest 10 lists for each girls and boys was Theodore, which soared from No. 23 the earlier 12 months to bump Alexander from the No. 10 spot. It's Theodore’s highest place ever within the company’s rankings, which return to 1900.
Liam and Olivia remained the highest names, positions they've held since 2017 and 2019, respectively.
Jack continued its climb, rising from No. 21 to No. 11.
Michael, which was within the high 10 repeatedly from 1943 to 2016, is on the best way down, falling to No. 17. It was the No. 1 boys’ title for 44 years — 1954 to 1998, apart from 1960, when David bumped it to No. 2.
Emily can also be declining in reputation. The No. 1 ladies’ title for 12 straight years, 1996 to 2007, it's now at No. 21.
