New Brazilian cafe brings acai, empadas and more to Danville

Cantinho Do Brazil, a brand new cafe in Danville, focuses on genuine Brazilian drinks, snacks, savory pastries and even rolled ice cream.

Situated within the former Hartz Cafe at 370 Hartz Ave., the brand new fast-casual restaurant serves açai bowls, crepes, smoothies and grab-and-go gadgets, like coxinha, a Brazilian bakery staple full of cheese and shredded rooster, together with six varieties of Brazilian hamburgers topped with every part from pineapple to shoestring potatoes.

Every loaded burger begins with a beef patty, cheese and egg, and can run you $10-$16. Salty, deep-fried salgado ($5-$8) embrace rissole full of ham and cheese or meat and corn; esfirra, a baked flatbread formed right into a pastry and full of meat or rooster; and empadas ($5.50), that are spherical and fewer flaky than their half-mooned counterpart, empanadas.

Don’t miss the gluten-free Brazilian cheese bread sliders, pão de queijo, that are made with cassava flour and full of every part from linguica to pulled pork. We heard they've housemade muffins by the slice, too.

Cantinho Do Brazil is open 10 a.m. to eight p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to eight p.m. weekends. Discover extra info at https://cantinhodobrazil.com.
