Man arrested on suspicion of setting string of fires along California highway

A Laguna Niguel man was arrested after arson investigators decided a string of fires alongside Ortega Freeway had been set deliberately, officers stated.

A joint investigation between the Orange County Sheriff’s Division, Orange County Hearth Authority, Cal Hearth, and U.S. Forest Service lead detectives to Homayon Farnoodymeher, 46, after proof was discovered.

The sheriff’s division declined to specify what proof they found, because the investigation was ongoing.

Investigators imagine the arson fires within the space set by Farnoodymeher date again to October 2021, though there have been no damages to buildings or accidents on account of these fires.

Farnoodymeher was arrested and booked on suspicion of arson on April 19 and launched on bond from Orange County Jail the next day.
