Westmont softball participant Haley Nishijima is the Bay Space Information Group’s ladies highschool athlete of the week for April 4-10 after edging Capuchino softball participant Nohemi Livingston for the respect.
Nishijima had 11,070 votes (36.42%) to Livingston’s 10,698 votes (35.19%) on the 5 p.m. deadline Wednesday.
Monte Vista softball participant Katie Bauer completed third.

Nishijima, a right-hander, pitched an entire recreation in Westmont’s 3-1 upset of then-No. 8 Branham. She allowed 5 hits and struck out seven.
The senior additionally went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs in a 7-0 victory over Pioneer. She was a member of the Bay Space Information Group’s Fab 40 softball group final spring.
