Authorities search for 9-year-old boy lost in California river

BAKERSFIELD — Authorities in boats and a helicopter had been looking for a 9-year-old boy swept away in a Southern California river.

The boy was reported misplaced Saturday round 2:30 p.m. within the Hogeye Gulch space of the Kern River close to Keysville, the Kern County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned.

It wasn’t instantly clear how the boy bought into the water. Sheriff’s officers mentioned an grownup relative needed to be rescued after going into the river to try to save the kid, KGET-TV reported.

The search was suspended at sunset on Saturday and was scheduled to renew at daybreak on Sunday.
