A Delta Air Traces flight from Salt Lake Metropolis to Washington, D.C., needed to land in Denver after the cockpit windshield cracked open above 30,000 ft, per The Related Press.
What occurred: The crew advised passengers to remain calm after the crew made the invention about 90 minutes into the flight, per AP.
- The pilots seen the crack after the aircraft had reached an altitude of about 30,000 ft.
- The shattered glass was seen to passengers after touchdown. One passenger took a photograph of the windshield, which confirmed the glass cracked, in response to AP.
We had been on our approach to the ACC assembly when it was introduced that we we would wish to make an unplanned touchdown in Denver as a result of the windscreen cracked. What they stated: “Out of an abundance of warning, the flight crew diverted into Denver and the aircraft landed routinely. Our crew labored shortly to accommodate prospects on a brand new aircraft, and we sincerely apologize for the delay and inconvenience to their journey plans,” a Delta spokesperson stated in a press release, per The Hill.
The end line: Passengers boarded one other aircraft in Colorado, permitting them to journey to Washington, D.C.
