‘Stupid (expletive) driver’ comment prompted Highway 4 freeway shooting in Bay Point; CHP investigating

BAY POINT — The California Freeway Patrol is investigating a freeway taking pictures right here that left one man hospitalized with gunshot wounds, police stated.

The Feb. 13 taking pictures occurred after the sufferer’s son rolled down his window and informed the shooter he was a “silly (expletive) driver,”  in keeping with the CHP. It occurred round 9 p.m., close to the Bailey Street exit on eastbound Freeway 4.

The sufferer was driving together with his son within the automobile after they have been reduce off by a grey Dodge Charger. The sufferer’s son rolled down his window and yelled the profanity on the different driver. The motive force of the Charger requested the son to repeat the remark, and he obliged, in keeping with police.

That’s when bullets began hanging the victims’ car, and the motive force — a 52-year-old man — realized he’d been shot. He pulled off the freeway at Hillcrest Avenue in Antioch and the 2 switched seats so the son may drive his father to the hospital.

The taking pictures occurred only a week after NBC Bay Space launched a report documenting a big improve in Bay Space freeway shootings, which the TV station reported have greater than doubled since 2019.
