Solo vehicle collision kills passenger, injures driver Sunday morning in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ — A passenger in a single-vehicle automobile crash was killed Sunday morning after the automobile he was using in collided with a utility pole.

Santa Cruz Police responded to calls of a solo automobile collision shortly after 5:45 a.m. Sunday on the intersection of Cayuga and Effey streets. The automobile carrying two males from Santa Cruz County, in response to police, collided with a utility pole and trapped the 2 males inside.
