Map: 3.4 earthquake east of Los Angeles

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded early Tuesday in western San Bernardino County.

The quake, at 3:33 a.m., was centered close to the Ontario airport, 40 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, the U.S. Geological Survey stated.

At 4:59 a.m., a 3.3 quake was recorded in a sparsely populated space of Riverside County 70 miles to the southeast, in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
