East Bay woman killed in Oakland hit-and-run identified

A Pittsburg lady killed in a hit-and-run crash final weekend in East Oakland has been recognized by authorities.

The lady, recognized as 61-year-old Gwendolyn Carson, was strolling or operating throughout the 9900 block of Worldwide Boulevard when a car hit her.

The collision occurred about 2:15 a.m. Saturday. Officers discovered her down within the westbound lanes.

Police mentioned she was exterior the marked crosswalk strains.

The driving force of the car didn't cease after the collision, police mentioned. It was not recognized if the motive force was dashing or whether or not medicine, alcohol or distracted driving induced the crash. Police had been investigating.
