A 62-year-old Vallejo man was sentenced Monday in a Sacramento federal court docket to greater than 15 years in jail for a scheme to distribute methamphetamine.
In a press launch, the U.S. Lawyer for the Division of Justice’s Jap District of California, Phillip A. Talbert, mentioned U.S. District Decide Kimberly J. Mueller sentenced Lionel Ornelas to fifteen years and eight months in jail for conspiracy to distribute and to own with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Based on court docket paperwork, between June 20 and Dec. 19, 2017, Ornelas conspired with Tony Acosta Alvarez, 29, to distribute and possess methamphetamine.
Ornelas had beforehand been convicted of felony drug offenses in Solano County in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2013, Talbert added within the ready assertion.
On July 26, 2019, Ornelas pleaded responsible and admitted that he was answerable for 1,068 grams, or greater than two kilos, of methamphetamine bought throughout an undercover operation. As well as, on July 20, 2017, Ornelas bought a .380 handgun to the confidential informant.
On Sept. 24, 2019, Alvarez was sentenced to 10 years in jail.
This case was the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Solano County Sheriff’s Workplace.
