WALNUT CREEK — BART police arrested a person on a no-bail theft warrant Monday evening following a significant delay aboard the system, officers stated.
Officers initially responded about 5:15 p.m. for a report that a male was holding a feminine hostage on board a prepare on the Walnut Creek station and that he had a gun. BART stated Tuesday that that report was found to be unfounded.
The police response and subsequent investigation led to trains being shut down for about an hour, in keeping with the company.
The suspect was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Officers didn't shut the station, however briefly held trains out in each instructions for a number of minutes whereas police labored with station workers to answer the report by off-boarding prepare patrons and conducting a search.
By 6:25 p.m., BART started permitting Antioch-bound trains to cease on the station, and opened each tracks to service quickly after, Allison stated.
BART stated mutual-aid service was out there by way of County Connection buses on the Nos. 9 and 14 routes.
