A person killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday on Interstate 580 has been recognized.
Erick Omar Gonzalez Vasquez, 21, of Sunnyvale and initially from Guatemala, was pronounced useless on the scene.
The incident occurred at about 11:45 p.m. Saturday. Gonzalez Vasquez is believed to have misplaced management of his automobile on westbound I-580 west of the San Quentin exit. Officers discovered the disabled automobile on the westbound facet of the freeway, and Gonzalez Vasquez on the eastbound facet.
The California Freeway Patrol is investigating.
“We don’t know the way he ended up on the eastbound facet resulting from lack of witnesses,” CHP Officer Darrel Horner stated.
