Map: Colorado Fire evacuation and perimeter in Big Sur

Evacuation orders stay in place Monday for the Colorado Hearth, burning on the Huge Sur coast.

The map above exhibits the necessary evacuation space as of Jan. 24 in crimson, and the approximate perimeter of the wildfire in black.

The dimensions of the hearth was estimated at 700 acres (1.1 sq. miles) with 35% containment, stated the California Division of Hearth and Forestry Safety. It had burned right down to Freeway 1 simply north of the landmark Bixby Creek Bridge.

The hearth was reported Friday night off Palo Colorado Highway, inland of Rocky Level.

It's in a coastal strip of land that escaped the 2016 Soberanes Hearth, which began in Garrapata State Park. That fireside burned for practically three months, consuming 132,127 acres and destroying 57 houses in Palo Colorado and Garrapata canyons.
