PALO ALTO – Officers have been investigating the armed theft of two ladies Tuesday on the Stanford Purchasing Middle, police mentioned.
The victims, a girl in her 70s and a girl in her 80s, have been eating collectively at True Meals Kitchen at about 2:45 p.m. when a person approached them, displayed a black handgun and demanded their purses, the Palo Alto Police Division mentioned in a information launch.
Police mentioned the victims handed over their purses and heard the suspect’s gun make a “pop” or “click on” noise.
“As different witnesses reported seeing an orange shade on the gun (together with presumably at its tip), police consider it's doable the weapon was a duplicate handgun,” police mentioned.
Police didn't discover a projectile or injury from a projectile on the scene. No accidents have been reported.
The suspect was described as a person in his late teenagers or early 20s and about 6 ft tall with a mean construct. Police mentioned he had curly hair and was final seen sporting a black hooded sweatshirt with crimson lettering, black pants, crimson sneakers and a face protecting.
The suspect left the scene on a blue bicycle and was final seen using northbound towards Sand Hill Street.
