The National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) meets to discuss the prospect of delivering additional vaccine doses to immunocompromised persons as India and the rest of the world cope with the new Covid-19 strain 'Omicron.' Expert Panel deliberated upon the issues of administering 'booster' dose of Covid vaccine to immunocompromised individuals as well as the vacination of children. According to the official source, the members could not reach a consensus and no final recommendation has been made on these issues as of now. The issue of booster dose was not on the agenda of the meeting as studies need to be conducted to ascertain its need and value, the sources added.
