As per the description of the bill, it seeks to bar all private cryptocurrencies, while defining India's official digital currency. This is the description of the earlier draft bill that was brought a couple of parliament sessions ago. Since then, the market was made to believe that the government may not bring in a blanket ban, contrary to the description of the draft legislation.
